The End of an Era: The ESA Permanently Cancels E3

The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) in the United States has announced that it is shutting down E3 for good.

The Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3 for short, had served as the premier exhibition for the video game industry for over two decades, providing a platform for studios, publishers, and their partners worldwide to showcase their work to their audiences. After being cancelled in 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, E3 went virtual in 2021 to significantly reduced fanfare and muted reception, before being cancelled again in 2022 and 2023.
