Ontario Leads Canada’s Game Industry

Ontario Games Industry

Ontario is at the forefront of Canada’s games and XR industry with nearly 300 active game studios – the most of any province in Canada. According to a recent report from the Entertainment Software Association of Canada (ESAC), Canada’s 821 game studios and supporting industries contributed $5.1 billion to the nation’s economy in 2023-24.

With strong industry growth and room to grow thanks to provincial tax credits, Ontario continues to contribute in a major way to Canada’s video games and XR development scene.
