Here at The Lodgge, we want to ensure visibility for all newcomers to the industry and make transitioning positions at any level as seamless as possible. Here is another round of our Bi-Weekly Career Post Round-Up that will include a collection of job openings and game industry careers across our many fantastic Ontario studios that stood out to us this week! Digital Extremes – UI Artist

Founded in 1993 by James Schmalz, Digital Extremes ranks as one of the world’s top independent video game development studios. Originating with the co-creation of Epic Games’ multi-million unit selling Unreal® franchise including Unreal and Unreal Tournament. The studio has reached its greatest critical and commercial success with the free-to-play action game, Warframe®, boasting a global community of 50 million registered players on PC, PS4™, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch™.

Digital Extremes is looking for a talented UI Artist to join our friendly team on Warframe. In this role, you will be responsible for designing the look of new game features as well as redesigning older screens and components to bring them in line with our current UI style. You will be helping to shape the look and improve the usability of Warframe’s UI, while working alongside a passionate team of artists that can help you learn and grow within your role.

Ubisoft Toronto – R&D Programmer (La Forge)

Ubisoft Toronto is one of the largest development studios within Ubisoft, employing talented developers from around the world. We create worlds and tell stories that grip you, inspire you and challenge you. Since opening in 2010, we have shipped innovative game projects on some of Ubisoft’s biggest brands: Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, Watch Dogs, For Honor and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell.

As an R&D Programmer within UbiTO’s La Forge, your role will be twofold: you’ll transform proof-of-concept prototypes to production-ready technologies and simplify how people work together within your team. Your technical expertise paired with your communication skills will be invaluable in all that you do. On the transformation side of your job, you’ll adapt prototypes to minimum viable products, easing the hands-off to game development teams across the company.

Rockstar Games – Associate Animator (Gameplay)

Rockstar Toronto is on the lookout for talented Animators who possess a passion for in-game animation. This is a full-time permanent position based out of Rockstar’s unique game development studio in Oakville.

Epic Games – Platform Programmer (Console)

We’re looking for experienced Console Programmers to help enhance and maintain the console platforms supported by Unreal Engine. You will be responsible for a variety of game consoles including Switch, Steam Deck, Sony and Microsoft platforms. You will work on a variety of systems including infrastructure, packaging, input, graphics, and general CPU tasks. You will often work with the latest technologies in gaming, working with console manufacturers to develop their software and hardware.
